ProVeg searching for global alt-protein stars

ProVeg Incubator open for startup applications

The ProVeg Incubator, the world’s first and leading accelerator of plant-based and fermented- and cultured-food startups, is looking for the next generation of high-impact alt-protein innovators to join its programme.

Applications are now open to pioneering founders who are developing impactful alternatives to animal-based products and ingredients, with a mission to transform the global food system.

Since its launch in late 2018, the ProVeg Incubator has supported over 60 startups from around the world, including Better Nature, Vly Foods, Omni, Kern Tec, Greenwise, Mushlabs, Formo, Plantcraft, Remilk, Hooked, the Live Green Company, and the Nu Company.

Collectively, the ProVeg Incubator’s alumni have raised more than €230 million and have products stocked in over 15,000 stores worldwide.

Applications for this upcoming cohort of startups are being accepted on a rolling basis until the final deadline on Monday, 31 January.

Companies that join the ProVeg Incubator are supported with a 12-week tailor-made accelerator programme, expert mentoring, access to the Incubator’s extensive networks of industry contacts, and up to €250,000 in funding and in-kind services. Since 2020, ProVeg International has invested in more than 20 startups.

The programme is scheduled to kick off in April. Interested founders should apply at https://provegincubator.com/application-form/#apply

Globally, the plant-based market is poised for explosive growth, with one report suggesting that it will exceed $160 billion in the next decade.

Albrecht Wolfmeyer, Head of the ProVeg Incubator, said: “Apart from our comprehensive programme and services, the ProVeg Incubator offers access to unique networks. We connect startup teams to mentors, corporate partners and investors from all over the world. The ProVeg Incubator brings founders together, within each cohort and as part of our alumni community. Being part of that community is an invaluable learning experience and opportunity for growth. It can make all the difference on an entrepreneurial journey.”
